So here's the time of the year where you look back and appreciate things that had happened since that time when your voice was first heard on the surface of the earth.
I thank God for everything that he has given me, material and non-material. But what I really am thankful for are the people around me who (I have proven) would never leave me in any kind of situation I'm in.
And because I'm grateful, I began congratulating myself for the 21 years I've endured. My mom told me to become mature (because I'm not at home). And that gives me a signal to start something I've been planning to do since the dawn of enlightenment.
For the blessings I've received from the Lord Almighty, I'm very thankful. And I would like to return the gratitude with the help of you guys. And so as to fulfill that purpose of mine, which I have in mind.
Support my cause this coming Christmas. Let's put up a group that will aid in a charity. For this year, let's visit Golden Acres (but I still have to check if they're still at Bago-Bantay). We'll be forming the group's name, a logo, the plan, the execution, and all that is essential for the organization (of course, I'm speaking from an OrCom's perspective). This will be fun, bonding, touching, and satisfying. Please please please. It is now that I need you more than ever. ;)

all right! and i needed to have a blogpost to celebrate this! it took me less than a year and three karma-downs to reach the peak of plurk nirvana. but it's not that fulfilling as 2 emoticons only were added.
i use my plurk timeline to update it with random things that i've been doing for the day so as to keep a record. so this contains nonsensical things from good morning to goodnight. It has also been my ranting device whenever I feel depressed over someone or something. it is set to private for my friends only so that my whole life wouldn't be exposed to the whole world.
other interesting stuff like the latest news and trends especially in music and new media are posted in my twitter account. that one's available for everybody. i've been addicted to twitter since the people that i followed there are very informative.
"The October 5 release will push through. I'm collecting all the material right now. Francis' stuff is awesome. Can't [wait] for his fans to hear it" (Buendia, 2009).
As much as he can't wait (I know the word is wait since he had said this on twitter minus the date) for the fans to hear it, I know, the fans themselves could no longer wait. I, for myself , is a fan of the master rapper and is very eager to have a copy since his post on the cyverspace about the collab with sir ely.
I remember a time when Mr. Gary V offered his help to finish the project after Sir Kiko passed away. I wonder if he was able to reach out for this album.
Speaking of Gary V., there's a tribute gig for him at 9pm in Magnet Bonifacio High Street. Pupil, Archipelago, Sino Si Kat, Itchyworms, and Spone Cola will be playing. Curse being jobless. I can't attend this highly awaited gig.

A huge percentage of my media consumption is being given to the internet. It is here where I see and hear the latest from the music industry as it has been a very efficient and reliable source for me in a long time. But I really don't know what's the matter with youtube for it has failed me these past few days. I've needed to dl this vid on my desktop to have the most important thing in it, the audio part.
Here's the music video of Sugarfree's first single from their fourth album, Mornings and Airports. I suggest you to dl this or watch out for it in music stations if youtube also gives you the same problem.
Choosing Mornings and Airports as a title for the fourth makes me think that it'll be having the same sad songs like those in the previous album. Mornings sounded like mournings and airports may imply departures. However, I also see that they would be taken with a lighter music, sounds that are quite refreshing as what I envisioned after hearing the word mornings (and seeing the album cover). And hey, airports could also be for arrivals ;)
Seemingly true, Hay Buhay reflects what I've predicted. The "wohoohooaaa" part of sir jal added to the refreshing feeling after making a sigh... Hay Buhay...
I wonder what's in store for us in this album. I must grab a copy now. ^_^
Media reflects reality. Or is it the other way around?
Music is one medium used to convey a message. Its purpose could be for expression, information, persuasion or entertainment. If it does not serve any of these purposes, then it’s useless.
What has been an issue regarding the rise of the record labels is its effect on the quality of music that the artists has been producing. An example would be novelty songs dominating the airwaves. What's worse is the Tagalized version of foreign novelty songs. I concede that they may be entertaining for some but they must also recognize that they may be annoying for (many) others.
I am not choosing between indie music and recording labels. This post just calls for the listeners, the artists, and the record labels to raise their standards regarding music. People, you know what’s music and what’s trash. Bear in mind that media has gained power of molding the society. So just please do not repetitively feed people with nonsense. Respect those who have really put an effort into improving their music.
Imagine yourself earning money and popularity just because of two notes and four absurd lines. Come on! You can do better than that! Such would just give negative credibility to the artist. Trust me, the popularity you’d be getting will just be for a short period of time as such songs will irritate the ears in the long run. Aim for something bigger. Try being one of the icons.
Covers or revisions are okay as long as you don’t seem to be earning 100% from them. Mehn, why is it possible for some to produce an album without a single composition? Picture somebody else singing your own work being able to generate money four times the value you’re earning. Unfair right? Golden rule: Do not do to others what you do not want to do unto you. And please don’t make something classic into something else if you do not have permission from the owner. I can’t forget that time when Juan dela Cruz’s Kahit Anong Mangyari was sung in RnB. WTF?! The song clearly says that Kahit anong mangyari PINOY ROCK pa rin tayo. How bastardizing can you get?
Know how to make something different from another. I know you can do it. Be creative. As the media is inevitably being powerful in influencing the people, the music industry must take responsibility in the kind of music they are making. If it’s really good, the crowd will love it.
Their Manila concert tour was a blast. Really. A lot of people had attended the concert and almost all were standing and banging their heads all throughout the show. They really have drawn a number of people there. Mehn, Trent was hot (musically speaking).
I was doubtful this morning if I would still watch the concert. It was raining really hard and I've been begging the skies to show a bit of mercy. I asked my friend, Kara, for her opinion. She said that I should go, which I did and was not regretful of doing. She have also asked me if I'm a fan of NIN. I said I'm not but I'm aware and interested of their songs. By the end of the day, the awareness and interest moved up to the next level. The desire was stimulated.
While waiting for (sir) miggy from odysseylive.net to arrive, I strolled around Araneta Center malls. Wow, how nostalgic! The last time I went into these malls was when I was in preparatory school. Then, I lurked around the Colliseum to observe other peoples' lifestyles. The concert grounds were full of different people. We have the socialites, the punks, the economists, the artists (I think I saw Rico Blanco there), activists (?), and a bunch of foreigners.
Well, enough of that. Let's talk about the concert. Just as when I entered the dome, the opening act (and one of my favorite local bands), Pupil, started to sing their latest single, Different Worlds. It was followed by Here I Go Again, All This Time, Animal Lover (a song that the band dedicated to the late Cory Aquino), and Disconnection Notice. I've never seen Dok so energetic. Wendell too. But I also want to commend the performance of their imported keyboardist from Singapore, Amanda Ling. They were really good and I say they've really earn that slot for being great in live performances. They've only prepared five songs but were asked by the producers to extend their playing with an additional song. They played Matador impromptu and Ms. Ling could still produce good notes there.
I was thinking of leaving but I still need to see NIN perform live. I said that I would be just watching a number of two songs which was eventually turned into 11 or 12 of `em. That's what I call solid rock. Something that's really addictive and would make your soul dance to the tune of the music. That's so much that the performers couldn't even control themselves. They've started tossing things in the air like the mic stand and the tambourine, which for your information, hit one of the audience who is currently being treated in ER according to my friend Mandy. eeep. XD
Aside from Trent Reznor, the drummer, I think, was the coolest of them all. He was slamming and all that like there's no tomorrow. And I love it. He's the reason why'd I've lengthened my stay for another hour and a half. I've recognized more than five of their songs. Thanks to the airwaves and the cyberspace. They played Terrible Lie, Heresy (the song that made it possible for me to be there), Piggy, Closer, Reptile, I'm afraid of Americans, Fragile, among many others. I really don't know the title of some of them so I used the aid of google. teehee
I need to end my post here `coz I think the concert starts to sink into me. I'm having a migraine and I really need to sleep now. Hehe. I'll be leaving you with two videos from the concert. Well, it must've been converted into an audio file since the videos don't help at all. I had a problem with zooming and I can't do anything about that. Anyway, it's the sound that matters ayt? Olrayt! ^^,
BTW, congrats to Pupil for making a good show tonight.
Special thanks to Mae, Gia, and Belle for keeping me company (though through mobile means. Hehe). Also thanks to Odysseylive.net for once again fulfilling my dreams. Oh yeah! You've done that much. :D
I now wave good bye back to NIN. Thank you for the music.
I've been lucky enough to win a ticket to the NIN with Pupil concert tomorrow. ^_^ Odysseylive.net has given me a lot since I've joined them. And I'm very much thankful for that. Today's winning was unexpected that I haven't even planned on who to bring with me. I guess I'll be going alone or with some online rakista buddies. Oh yeah!
Anyway, I really want you to see what odysseylive.net has offered me.
Well, what can I say? That's a really good deal! I got a 2100 worth of ticket in exchange for just guessing the title and the album to which a song belonged. Olrayt!
I also won tickets to the Pupil's Wildlife Special Edition Album Launch through this social networking site that allowed me to bring a friend. Buying an album won't provide me that but I still got a copy for myself for the love of the band (and the vocalist. Oh yeah!)
My album review of the Pupil was even featured by the site.
You see? You'll get a lot of perks here. So I invite you my dear readers to sign up for them. You can leave your comments below and make sure to include your email ads so that I could enter them into my referral page. Thank you. :)
This a story of an American bank robber who's the reason for the emergence of the famous FBI. The man was famous on his own being cheered by people while on his way to jail. After escaping, the race to bring him down was on.
The characters
Johnny Depp was able enough to portray the character. I even fell in love with Dillinger's style of courting. He was okay in the action scenes, a very flexible character indeed. If you happen to see the picture of John Dillinger, try to compare it with the Johnny Depp's poster. They really look the same.
The effects
There are some flaws in the technical side of the film. Like for the gun shots, they all seemed to be of the 90s. Sounds were also a problem. I don't know if it was me or it's really hard to hear what they're saying. Some scenes were also wasted because of the lighting. It's too dark to see what's happening on the chasing scene.
The plot
Very slow. Though, there still some in the man's life that needs to be covered.
The judgment
3 stars. Probably because it's based on a true story. But it should've emphasized the meaning of the character. I guess it failed to convey it as I do not see the point of the whole thing. It was like watching a day of an ordinary man in a crowd (though he must've appeared exceptional). The materials were not optimized. Some scenes could've shown the other bank robberies so as to show that he's really a pro. Why should he be featured is the thing we all know because of texts, but that must have also been shown through the movie as this is his life story.
I saw this episode of Mikee with the heads when I was younger. I saw it again last year and was prompted to post this now because a fellow lister has uploaded it in multiply.
So for freaks and citizens, tama na ang away. Panoorin nyo na lang to ha? Let's just celebrate the music. Yun naman kasi talaga ang point nang lahat eh. But for now, let's celebrate their acting. Ang cute eh XD
